Willie Robertson

Willie Robertson

Willie is the Senior and Founder Partner of Robertson Craig, having formerly been a senior manager with Arthur Andersen. He has lectured in taxation at the University of Glasgow and served as a Member of the Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, he is a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser.

Iain Gillies

Iain Gillies

Iain joined the firm as a Partner in 1987, having trained as a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick, now part of KPMG. He serves on the Glasgow and West of Scotland Area Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Iain specialises in providing taxation and corporate finance advice to a wide range of clients principally in the agricultural, landed estate, property development and hotel and leisure sectors.

Brian Fox

Brian Fox

Brian joined Robertson Craig as a Partner in 1987, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen.

Brian provides general personal and corporate tax planning advice and deals mainly with high net worth individuals. His specialisms include tax investigations, managements buyouts and property transactions.

Stewart Merry

Stewart Merry

Stewart is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser having joined the firm from PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1997.

He was assumed a Partner in 1998 and is the Firm's technical and training Partner as well as having his own portfolio of primarily owner-managed business clients.

His specialisms include the direct tax and VAT issues affecting property companies and joint ventures.

Alan Robb

Alan Robb

Having trained as a Chartered Accountant with a large international practice, Alan spent 12 years as a Partner in an independent practice specialising in providing taxation advice to owner-managed businesses. He joined Robertson Craig as a Partner in 2001. He has continued to provide general corporate and business tax advice but has also developed a number of specialisms. These include dealing with large tax investigations, share valuations, and acting as an expert witness in both the Court of Session and Sheriff Court.

John Fowlie

John Fowlie

John is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, having worked with both Grant Thornton and Ernst & Young for a total of 19 years. He joined Robertson Craig in 2006 and was assumed a Partner in 2007.

He specialises primarily in corporate tax work, including dealing with company sales, management buyouts, demergers and other corporate reconstructions.
